Sony states the on-screen message and no cause. Their entire remedy is two lines: try updating your game, then contact PlayStation Repairs. It is one of the thinnest pages in their whole index.
Functionally it is the PS5 counterpart to the PS4's CE-34878-0: the game or the console crashed. Sony's own first step tells you which they think it usually is — the game.
This code is PS5 only. It does not appear in Sony's PS4 index.
Same test as on PS4. If several unrelated games throw it, suspect the console. If one game does it repeatedly and nothing else ever has, it is that game and Sony's advice to update it is right.
Operator documentation: www.playstation.com. Sony's article for this code contains no explanation of the cause and exactly two remedies. The gap between how often this is searched and how little Sony says about it is why so many invented explanations circulate.
