Roblox 268

On screen: You have been kicked due to unexpected client behavior

Not an outage

People land on this error while searching whether the service is down. It is not. This code cannot be produced by an outage, so no amount of waiting will clear it.

What it actually means

Roblox's explanation points at the network and at software conflicts: issues with the network connection between the client application and servers, or a conflict with other applications, like antivirus software, that override permissions related to Roblox.

The engine tells a more specific story. The internal name is DisconnectOnRemoteSysStats — the server examined the client's reported system state and rejected it. In practice this is an integrity check, which is why injectors, exploit tools and third-party launchers trigger it reliably.

Important for anyone searching: this wording used to belong to code 267. Roblox moved it. Any guide explaining 267 as unexpected client behaviour is describing the old arrangement — 267 is now about experience bans.

How to tell which one you have

If it happens across every experience, the problem is your client or your device. If it happens in one experience only, that game's own anti-cheat kicked you and Roblox is not involved.

Fixes, in the order worth trying

  1. Remove any exploit, injector or cheat tool — Including ones left installed from another game. The check looks at your system, not at your intent.
  2. Use the official client only — Third-party launchers and modified clients fail this check by design.
  3. Turn off VPN and proxy
  4. Add Roblox to your antivirus exclusions — Roblox names antivirus permission conflicts in their own explanation, so this one is from them.
  5. Reinstall as a last step — It helps only where the installation itself was modified.

Operator documentation: en.help.roblox.com. One thing to know about Roblox's own articles for this family of codes. We compared them and the sections after “select your operating system” are byte-for-byte identical across codes 264, 266, 268, 277, 279 and 280 — the same reinstall, clear AppData and call your ISP sequence. Only a one-to-three line paragraph differs. So the official answer is close to the same for six unrelated problems, which is why the causes below matter more than the steps. For 268 specifically, the generic reinstall and ISP advice does not address an integrity check.
