What it actually means

This appears when linking a Rockstar account to a platform account using Safari. Rockstar states they are aware of it and investigating, which means there is no permanent fix from their side.

The useful part is that the error frequently fires after the link has actually gone through. The operation succeeded and the confirmation failed.

This matters for GTA 6 because linking a Rockstar account to PlayStation or Xbox is a required step, and a lot of people will do it for the first time in years on launch week.

How to tell which one you have

Before retrying, open your Rockstar account connections page in a browser. If the platform is already listed there, the link worked and the error was cosmetic.

Fixes, in the order worth trying

1. Check your account connections page first — The link may already be in place. Retrying a successful link is how people end up in a loop.
2. If it genuinely did not link, use a browser other than Safari — Rockstar scopes the bug to Safari, so this is the practical workaround while they investigate.
3. Retry once, not repeatedly — The operation is not failing in a way that repetition fixes.
